Blue Murder simply explained why WS 1987 was so special. It wasn't because of Coverdale. It was because of Sykes.

This is the way rock & roll is supposed to be played, warts & all. Not perfect versions of the studio recordings. Solos changed up, vocals not exact studio version, etc. These guys are all amazing musicians on their own and put them together and just that much more amazing!

A great band that I grew up with. They went through some bad breaks as bands do, I’m sure. Like, say Anvil, who kept fighting though similar situations, I assume, but Teaze kinda quit (for various reasons, I assume, naturally) but now, they have come together and reunited. That’s just great. I’m in. All the way. Come to London, Ontario. I will be there. For sure.

What is even MORE IMPRESSIVE than Tony’s fretless playing, Carmine’s perfect timing, and John’s emotional shredding: John’s ability to do pinch harmonics and insane bends on a Les Paul and STAYING IN TUNE!!!

Sykes is the the most talented musician of the hair metal era. Obviously, his guitar playing was phenomenal, but listen to this guy sing! He was a better singer than David Coverdale imo, who of course kicked him out of Whitesnake after he had basically made them relevant again. Add to that the great songwriting and I challenge you to give me a better talent from the era.

Really blistering hard stuff. I love the stops and starts at the end, really builds it up a notch. Sykes a very fiery melodic talent with his own style, not just a shredder, and decent vocal.
